ome of the coolest muscle-era Fords aren't the obvious ones. This 1966 Ford Custom 500 is the perfect example. Originally ordered with a 390 V8 and finished in Nightmist Blue, this full-size Ford now houses a professionally built 427ci Side-Oiler V8 backed by a Toploader 4-speed manual transmission, creating a true period-correct street machine with the looks of a sleeper and the performance to back it up.

Purchased in Vermont before spending time in the South and Midwest, this Custom 500 has been in Texas since 2013 and has benefited from extensive documented mechanical restoration. The 427 Side-Oiler was professionally rebuilt by Willard's Auto Machine in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2012 and received additional machining, detailing, and refinishing in 2019 by Mike's Classic Cars. Included with the sale are service records dating from 2012 to present, dyno documentation showing approximately 420 horsepower, a spare wheel, owner's manual, and a clean Texas title.
