1968 Chevrolet Malibu SS Clone – Restored Texas Car with Modern Drivability

This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Clone has Texas roots and a well-documented history. Originally purchased new in Texas by a grandmother, remaining in the family until her grandson later drove it during college before being sold to its current owner. It has since undergone a restoration that brought it to its current condition, finished in white with red stripes. The exterior presents very well overall with only minor imperfections noted in the photos.

Inside, the cabin has been refreshed with black upholstery, including newly padded seats and refurbished door panels. The odometer shows 75,000 miles, believed to be accurate to the car's history with no roll overs.

Power comes from a 5.7L Vortec 350 V8 that has been upgraded with new valves, springs, a Comp cam, and a Holley 450 4-barrel carburetor. It's paired with a rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission and backed by the factory 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with a 3.31:1 ratio. The suspension features heavier sway bars for improved handling, and the car rides on Torq-Thrust wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires.

This Chevelle is easy and enjoyable to drive thanks to its electronic ignition, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The engine fires up easily and runs smoothly, all while an overdrive function on the transmission makes highway cruising enjoyable. Additional upgrades include a Bluetooth vintage-style stereo connected to an amplifier, 6x9 speakers, and a 10-inch subwoofer installed in the trunk. A spare tire and tools are also included.

The body tag provides the following details:
10D – Built in October
68 – Model year 1968
13637 – Malibu 2-door sport coupe
KAN – Kansas City, Kansas assembly plant
11039 – Body number
755 – Medium Teal imitation leather interior
A – Tuxedo Black original paint

This 1968 Chevrolet Malibu is ready for its next owner. Fully restored with upgraded performance and modern drivability, it keeps its classic muscle car styling with everyday drivability. Now offered for sale by V Fine Motorcars in Austin, Texas. Contact us today to schedule a viewing.
