1962 Ford Thunderbird

This 1962 Thunderbird has been well-maintained by each owner and is now in its current Driver condition. The drivetrain has undergone several updates, including a rebuilt 390 V8 engine and a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission. The interior has been refreshed with new carpet and features stunning blue leather seats. The Skymist Blue exterior exhibits some signs of age and chips, which are visible in the pictures. The tonneau cover and white soft top add a touch of elegance that complements the car's paint and interior.

On 9/16 (67,290 mi), the car received a rebuilt FE 390 cu. In. V8 300HP engine and a rebuilt 3-speed transmission. It was also equipped with a Pretronix electronic ignition, eliminating the need for points and condenser. Subsequent updates include exhaust manifolds and intake manifolds replaced on 2/14, along with re-wiring of the ignition and electric choke. On 3/14, the hood release cable was replaced, rear gear oil changed, a new windshield washer water bag added, and a full-size spare tire installed. Additionally, the exhaust manifold was resurfaced and heavy-duty front and rear sway bars were fitted on 6/14. The GM alternator was rewired and spark plugs, coil wire, and spark plug wires were changed on 7/14. On 8/21, the car received a new aluminum radiator, radiator hoses, clamps, and thermostat, while a metal radiator fan shroud was purchased on 10/21. Furthermore, all 8 electric relays for the top were replaced on 1/22.


The car's interior received various updates, including new carpet, a pigtail, and oil pressure to the dash. Additionally, the pinion seal in the rear gear, hydraulic ram, and broken right arm on the convertible top were replaced, along with the pump on the windshield washer and the rebuilt clock. The windshield and seals, door to windshield seals, dash, AM/FM Bluetooth radio, and speaker were also replaced. Furthermore, the water pump and oil pump were replaced, and the shift handle lockout/detent was fixed. On 3/17 (69,825 mi), updates included replacing the harmonic balancer, alternator, convertible top switch, and rebuilding the power steering pump. On 5/17, four sealed beam headlights with plastic lenses and halogen bulbs were replaced. On 6/17, the carburetor was rebuilt, and the convertible top hydraulic pump and hoses were replaced. The blue seats look great when the rear cover is off, revealing all four. The dash has a lot of originality and features a Bluetooth stereo for playing music from your phone. Additionally, the floor pans were stripped to bare metal and painted, a Thermo-Tec heat and sound suppression floor pad was installed, and new carpet, front, and back seat foam and vinyl covers were fitted. On 10/22 (87,530 mi), the steering idler arm and front end Delux rebuild kit were replaced.

The car's exterior underwent a repaint in Skymist Blue under previous ownership, and many chrome parts remain original. The wheels have been upgraded to 15-inch size and equipped with white wall tires. However, there is some rust visible under the passenger door on the underside, as shown in the photos.
