1966 Volkswagen Beetle 1300

This 1966 VW Beetle was purchased in NewYork back in January 1966 and brought down to Texas in the 1970s where it has lived its life. This 1966 has 63,438 original miles and still retains its original engine and transmission. The car is also being sold with the original paperwork when purchased including the original invoice $1,638.50 Suggested retail. Also a 35000 mile guarantee and a metal name plate. There is even a original key saved in the file.

The car is now owned by the second owner, the neighbor. He has had it restored with new paint and chrome on the body and finished in original red with many coats of clear coat. This car was painted 3 months ago and looks fantastic with only a few imperfections such as the touch up paint above the driver door. On top it is a very small area. There are no rock chips in the paint as it has not been driven much since work was completed.

The interior has all been redone in the original colors all seats straps headliner door inserts all redone. The car still retains the original steering wheel horn and I think seat belts and all dash parts look correct. The black carpet has been replaced, the paint on the inside looks great and the doors have new seals and the windows have new cranks and parts in the door they need some breaking in.

The Bug is Powered by its original 1300cc engine along with the original 4 speed transmission. The engine was looked over and cleaned up then re installed in great working order. The transmission was not removed and has its original 63k miles on it. The trans works great in all gears with the exception of downshifting into 1st gear it does grind a little. I'm not sure if this is a clutch adjustment or something else. The car drives great and has plenty of power when going through the gears. All of the steering has been sorted and gone through. The car has been converted to a 12v system. New fuel cell and front full size spare and jack with car.

This 1966 is super clean and as you can see in the pictures this would be a good one to collect with its value set to continue to increase as time goes on. Great examples like this do not last long please ask any questions and take a look at the video.
