This 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS is a two-door sport coupe that was produced at GM's St Louis, MO, plant and is powered by a non numbers-matching 1964 409ci Turbo-Fire V8 mated to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Red over a red interior and was acquired by the seller in 2010. Equipment includes a Positraction rear end 373 10 Bolt, 17” Chrome wheels, and a Delco radio. This Impala SS is now offered with a clean Texas Bonded title, a spare set of tires and original 14 inch wheels and SS hubcaps.

The car was finished in Red and was reportedly repainted in the 2012 while under ownership. Exterior features include chrome bumpers and trim, anodized metal side moldings, quad headlights, and “409” fender badging along with a new windshield. Bubbling is noted on the passenger-side door and rocker panels and rear trunk, and chips can be seen around the hood and a crack in the passenger rear finder. Close-up images of the paint and trim are shown in the gallery and other spotting is visible the car could use another paint job to make it perfect.

Wheels measure 17″ Chrome aftermarket. l Spare is mounted in the trunk. A spare set of period-style tires, wheels and SS hubcaps are included in the sale.

A Red color scheme is carried throughout the interior, including the front bucket seats, rear bench, carpeting, door panels, and dashboard. Additional features include a center console with SS badge with engine-turned trim, a Delco radio, beautiful chrome throughout the interior and the dash has been signed by World renowned Impala 409 Impala super stock Racer Haydon Proffitt.

The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and fronts a 120-mph speedometer along with a super pro 7k-rpm tachometer on steering column, a fuel level gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, Car came out of a garage in Arkansas where it sat for a long time. Most exterior, interior trim and bumpers are original.

The 409ci Turbo-Fire solid lifter V8 is equipped with dual four-barrel Carter carburetors and correct fuel lines, linkage, filters, oversized radiator and comp cam roller rockers these engines go for $19k alone. 409 sends power to the rear wheels through a freshly rebuilt rock crusher four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end. The front end suspension rebuilt when restored, Center bushing are heavy duty also Flow master pipes with cut outs and drum brakes.

The engine is a non matching numbers engine but is period correct from 1964 409ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors paired with a manual transmission.
